watercolor and dry pastel on cotton paper print
Guides [Zero-Stone] series consists of reproductions of hand-painted printed portraits of inspiring figures often labeled as defeated or outcasts in official history:
Aimberê, a Tupinambá warrior;
Emma Goldman and José Oiticica, anarchists;
Anna Spieckermann, a woman murdered after being accused of witchcraft;
Marietta Baderna, a ballerina who dared to dance alongside enslaved people.
The portraits were initially sourced online in low resolution. They were then given layers of background textures corresponding to their positions in the Mayan calendar, enlarged, printed, hand-colored, and finally framed.
